At least 17 civilians killed in Saudi shelling of Saudi-Yemeni border region in month of May

At least 17 civilians were killed and 15 wounded in the month of May as a result of Saudi-led coalition shelling on border areas in Saada province, northern Yemen, a security source said.

“The Area of Al-Raqaw in Monabbih border district was the most affected by the Saudi attacks, in which 13 civilians were killed and 11 wounded,” the source explained .

“A woman was killed and three citizens were injured in Saudi artillery and rocket attacks on the homes of citizens in the border directorate of Shada,” the source said, adding that coalition warplanes launched an air strike on Wadi Leya area of the border directorate of al-Dhaher , killing 3 citizens and seriously injuring another.

The source pointed out that “these brutal crimes reveal the ugly face of the authoritarian Saudi regime, as well as the lies of the international community and the United Nations, which claim to defend human rights.”
