An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale has on Monday hit the city of al-Mukalla in Hadhramaut province, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
According to the EMSC, the epicenter of the earthquake was centered at a depth of 5.5 km, in the middle of the Gulf of Aden at a distance of 227 km from Mukalla.
Earthquakes are frequent in the Gulf of Aden, through which an active seismic line passes.
