One Russian soldier was killed and three others wounded on Wednesday, when a mine exploded on the path of a Russian patrol in northeastern Syria.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the explosion hit the Russian military vehicle in Hasaka province, killing one solider and injuring three others.
The Observatory affirmed that the explosion targeted the military vehicle after it crossed into the the village of Al-Asadiya, located on the dividing line between the positions of the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (a US-backed majority Kurdish armed group), the positions of the illegal Turkish occupation forces and their mercenary factions, and the areas under full control of the Syrian Arab Republic itself, in the northern countryside of Abu Rasin, located in Hasaka.
The report indicated that Russian helicopters arrived in the airspace of the area to treat the wounded soldiers.
