Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hisham Sharaf, has met on Tuesday with the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sana’a, Hassan Erlu.
At the meeting, Sharaf expressed the National Salvation Government’s appreciation for Iran’s position in support of a peaceful political solution in Yemen.
He affirmed the National Salvation Government’s readiness to go ahead in achieving peace, and said that the government values Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif’s initiative to end the aggression and lift the siege on Yemen.
In turn, the Iranian ambassador confirmed that his country would continue its efforts to end the aggression and lift the comprehensive siege imposed on the Yemeni people for nearly seven years.
The meeting discussed several aspects of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and touched upon the latest regional and international efforts to reach peace and a political settlement in Yemen.
