One UAE-backed mercenary was killed and seven others injured on Friday, when a booby-trapped motorcycle went off,l, targeting the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces in Yemen’s southern province of Abyan, local sources said.
According to the sources, a booby-trapped motorcycle exploded and collided with a military truck carrying soldiers belonging to the Security Belt forces in Zinjibar district, the centre of Abyan province, leaving at least one killed and seven others wounded.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
Abyan province and other southern provinces , which are under control of the UAE-backed militias, have been witnessing a security deterioration due to spread of terrorist elements.
