Saudi Arabia restricts Hajj pilgrimage exclusively to inhabitants of the kingdom

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia has announced on Saturday that the Hajj for the year 2021 will be restricted to citizens and residents inside the Kingdom, with a maximum total of 60,000 pilgrims.

According to the ministry, this decision was taken due to the continuing developments of the Covid-19 pandemic and the emergence of new mutations in the world.

In its statement, the Ministry drew attention to the necessity of adhering to the regulatory controls, health standards and security requirements in all stages of performing the Hajj.
