The Yemeni Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel, said on Monday that the United Nations has not even provided the children of Yemen with any supplies of operating rooms.
The statement came during the minister’s visit to the Pediatric Department at the Republican Hospital in Saada province, where he inspected the condition of a child with congenital malformations contracted as a result of the Saudi-led coalition’s use of internationally-prohibited weapons in the bombing of the province.
The one-year-old child needs a device to suction fluids from the brain in order to stay alive.
Dr. Al-Mutawakel held the United Nations responsible for the life of this child and thousands like him in Yemen, and condemned the organist soon for its lack of responsibility.
The UN has been severely condemned across Yemen recently, after a decision by the General Secretary to not include Saudi Arabia on the blacklist of children’s rights violators, a decision made all the worse by the fact that Ansarullah was included in the latest version of this list.
