Air bombing targeted a camp of Islah Party militants in Modiya district and left 40 dead and wounded on Saturday, local sources reported.
The sources noted that the bombing was likely carried out by Emirati planes, in support of the Southern Transitional Council (STC). However, no party has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
For the past several days, parts of Abyan have witnessed clashes between Islah militias and the STC forces, which have left numerous dead and wounded on both sides.
