The former General Director of Electricity in Taiz province, Aref Al-Sabri, was sentenced to 6 months in prison by the Public Funds Court for refusing to resign, according to sources.
Along with the imprisonment of the defendant, he was also obligated by the court to pay 50,000 riyals as a fine.
A few weeks ago, Taiz governor, Nabil Shamsan, who was appointed by the Saudi-led occupation coalition, issued a decision to dismiss Al-Sabri, following ongoing popular protests condemning the omnipresent corruption in the area.
