At least three injured in armed clashes in Taiz

At least three people were injured on Saturday as a result of clashes due to the blocking of the road linking between the cities of Al-Turbah and Taiz, southwest Yemen, local sources said.

The clashes erupted against the backdrop of blocking the road by the guardians of the blood of a conscript named “Mohammed al-Saba’ei” in protest against the prosecutor’s release of the killer, the source explained.

The move angered some travelers coming from Al-Turbah to Taiz and they tried to open the road amicably, but the matter developed into armed clashes, the source added.

The sources indicated that the road remained closed for more than five hours to travelers and was opened after tribal interventions.

It is noteworthy that the areas under the control of Islah Party loyal to Saudi-led coalition in Taiz province are witnessing insecurity state and continuous violations against citizens.
