Gaza resistance movements vow retaliation if Zionist blockade continues

The Palestinian resistance factions in the Gaza Strip have on Sunday warned against the continuation of the siege imposed on the Strip.

The factions called on mediators and all international parties to pressure the Israeli occupation to end the siege immediately, and speed up the reconstruction process.

“The siege and closure [of Gaza] are two things that our people can no longer accept, so we give an opportunity to mediators to end this siege, allow entry to the reconstruction materials and ensure freedom of movement for our people,” the Palestine Today agency quoted the coordinator of the national forces and member of the political bureau of the Islamic Jihad, Khaled Al-Batsh, as saying.

Al-Batsh added: “If these efforts fail, our people will have no choice but to confront and work with all their might until they regain their right to dignity and freedom.”

He stressed the need to stop the ongoing human suffering that affected the chronically ill, especially in light of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Al-Batsh sent a message to the Zionist entity, saying: “What you were not able to take from us in the battle of Quds Sword, you will also not be able to take from our people through blackmail, siege and shutdown.”

The “Israeli” occupation entity, since the aggression it launched on the Gaza Strip on May 10 and which lasted for 11 days, has continued to close all crossings into Gaza, restricting movement and preventing the entry of even the most basic materials. In addition, it had continued to obstruct the reconstruction of the houses and facilities that were destroyed, which has exacerbated the catastrophic conditions in the Strip, which has been under siege since 2007.
