Yemenis in Abyan protest against rising food prices and corruption

Dozens of citizens demonstrated on Friday in Zenjbar city in Abyan province, southern Yemen, in protest against the massive rise in food prices, demanding the departure of Hadi’s government and the Saudi-led coalition from southern provinces.

The protesters chanted slogans against the Saudi-led puppet government’s corruption and the economic warfare against Yemen pursued by the coalition countries.

The demonstrators accused the Hadi puppet government of being behind the worsening economic and living conditions, in a plan to achieve their own political and military gains.

The protesters called on all the people of the southern Yemeni provinces to demonstrate in rejection of the policy of starvation, demanding that employees’ salaries be paid and the economic situation be addressed immediately.

The demonstrators held the Hadi puppet government fully responsible for the economic deterioration that has affected the living situation of ordinay citizens, announcing the continuation of protests in front of the government complex in the city on every Monday, and more protest marches every Friday.
