The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) has on Wednesday released a Salafist preacher, ten months after his abduction in Aden city, southern Yemen.
Local sources said the Salafist preacher, Abdul Qader Al-Shaibani, aged 70, had been arrested by the STC militias when he was preparing to travel for treatment abroad, and held for more than 10 months.
Al-Shaibani’s health condition is reportedly very bad, and his family is preparing to transfer him abroad for treatment, the sources added.
On 2 November 2020, Abdul Qader Al-Shaibani was kidnapped by armed men wearing civilian clothes in Al-Mansoura neighborhood in Aden province.
