Mass resignations of public officials in Hadhramaut in protest against UAE occupation

A number of civil service officials in the occupied Yemeni province of Hadhramaut have submitted their collective resignations.

Director of Civil Service in Hadramout coast, Hussein Ali Ahmed al-Samin, submitted his resignation to the Governor, Faraj Al-Bahsani, due to “regionalist practices.”

Al-Samin referred to the regionalism practiced by the Minister of Civil Service in the Hadi puppet government, Abdul-Nasser Al-Wali, who is affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC).

In his resignation, al-Samin claimed that al-Wali had led a smear campaign to oust him for regional reasons and personal interests.

The resignation indicated that minister al-Wali seeks to remove inhabitants of Hadhramaut, and replace them with figures from the areas of Yafa and al-Dhalea, the stronghold of the STC.
