Multiple explosions have rocked the city or Khamis Mushait, in southwestern Saudi Arabia, in the early hours of Thursday .
This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based the testimony of Saudi activists.
Saudi activists said on Twitter said that violent explosions were heard throughout the city, which houses King Khalid Air Base, the largest military base in Saudi Arabia.
They noted that the explosions were renewed from time to time, indicating that the military base participating in the war in Yemen had been subjected to a large-scale attack.
This comes at a time when the coalition announced the interception of a drone launched by Yemeni army forces towards Khamis Mushait.
The Yemeni army has not yet made any comment, but the resistance forces have in the past regularly carried out highly successful retaliation strikes on the airbase.
On Wednesday, the Saudi-led coalition warplanes launched 15 airstrikes targeting several areas in Ma’rib, Sana’a and Jawf provinces.
