A teacher has been killed on Thursday by unknown gunmen in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden, local sources said.
According to local sources, gunmen stopped Salem Ali Salem, the principal of Iqra private school in Mansoura directorate, and shot him.
Salem was killed instantly after being shot twice in the head, one of the sources said.
It is believed that Salem was affiliated with the Islah Party, the Yemeni branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. Dozens of Islah cadres and leaders in Aden have been assassinated since 2015.
The Islah Party itself accuses the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias of carrying out these assassinations, due to strategic and political differences between the separatists and the Islah Party.
