Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman, Brigadier Yahya Sare’e, has on Saturday revealed details of a major military offensive in Ma’rib province.
During a press statement this afternoon, he said the army forces backed by Popular Committees were able to liberate the districts of Mahliya and Rahbah in this operation.
The operation comes within the third phase of Operation Al-Nasr al-Mubin.
The spokesman announced the liberation of a total area estimated at 1,200 square kilometers in the districts of Rahbah and Mahliyah.
He confirmed that the operation resulted in the killing, wounding and capturing of 151 mercenaries loyal to Saudi-led coalition.
Brigadier Yahya Sare’e noted that the army forces and the Popular Committees were working to normalise daily life in the liberated areas, with the participation of the local authority in Ma’rib province.
The Yemeni military spokesman indicated that Saudi-led coalition warplanes carried out more than 484 airstrikes in support of its mercenary militias during the battle.
Sare’e praised the “great role of the honourable tribes of Ma’rib in the battle of liberation and independence in general, and the liberation of Ma’rib province in particular.”
