Minister of Information in the National Salvation Government of Yemen, Daifallah al-Shami strongly condemned on Tuesday the statements of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, “António Guterres,” regarding the implementation of execution against nine man convicted of the assassination of the martyred President Saleh al-Sammad.
Daifallah al-Shami said, in a statement, that the UN used to condemn the victim and stand in the side of the aggressor, forgetting that the executed were involved in the assassination of the head of state.
Al-Shami pointed out that the UN statement is not different from its positions and decisions, which has failed towards the Yemeni people, who have been subjected to aggression and unjust siege for seven years.
He called on the international organization to pay attention to the suffering of millions of Yemeni children who have been deprived of the most basic necessities of life by the aggression and are now vulnerable to death, bombing, siege, or starvation and epidemics.
Al-Shami also stressed that the Yemeni judiciary has become independent like other state institutions that exercise their functions away from any political considerations, noting that such as statements affect the performance of these institutions, which carry out their duty to establish justice for citizens.
