Yemeni forces inch ever closer to Ma'rib city after new successful offensive

The Yemeni army forces have on Wednesday carried out a large-scale military operation in Ma’rib province, managing to take control over Harib district and strategic areas.

According to local sources, dozens of troops were killed and wounded during fierce battles, in which the army forces were able to liberate the whole Harib district’s security administration, and secured the areas of al-Qal’a and Sharjan.

The sources confirmed that control over Harib district is likely to lead to cutting of the Saudi-led coalition forces’ supply routes between Ma’rib and Shabwah province.

In turn, the Saudi-led coalition is striving through unsuccessful attempts to stop the advance of the Yemeni army forces towards the city of Ma’rib, by intensifying airstrikes towards the positions that the army has seized in Bayda province.
