The Hezbollah War Media Department has on Thursday issued a statement in which it announced that the Islamic Resistance fighters managed to shoot down an Israeli drone in Southern Lebanon.
The statement mentioned that “the Resistance fighters used suitable weaponry to shoot down the Zionist drone in the Meryameen Valley in the outskirts of Yater town.”
Earlier in the day, the Israeli occupation army said that one of its drones crashed in Lebanese territory.
A spokesman for the Israeli forces, Avichay Adraee, said on Twitter: “the drone fell down during a regular activity,” adding “the accident is under investigation.”
Lebanese authorities have repeatedly accused the Israeli occupation forces of violating Lebanon’s air borders, including during operations to launch military aggression against Syria.
This incident came after the Zionist forces announced on September 22, that a quadcopter drone had crashed inside Syrian territory due to a technical malfunction.
