Deputy FM of Yemen meets with UN representative on Hodeidah ceasefire agreement

Yemen’s Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein Al-Ezzi has met on Sunday with the Deputy Head of the UN Mission for the Implementation of the Hodeidah Agreement, Daniela Kroslak, during which the two developments related to the implementation of the Stockholm Agreement and the push for the resumption of the meetings of the Redeployment Committee.

The Deputy Foreign Minister stressed the importance of informing the United Nations, represented by the UNMAA mission, of the responsibility entrusted to it in developing the mission’s work pattern in an effective manner, in order to support efforts to fully implement the Stockholm Agreement.

He pointed out “the need for the United Nations to break their silence about the grave violations of this agreement by the US-Saudi aggression, and to oblige the coalition party to respect the agreement, foremost by releasing internationally licensed ships and committing to not intercepting them.”

The Deputy Foreign Minister pointed to the importance of enabling the UNFEM mechanism to operate and redeploy, given that these issues represent the essence of the Hodeidah ceasefire greement. Al-Ezzi said that the coalition of aggression “is still disavowing these obligations, and the silence of the United Nations has become one of the most important reasons behind many of these violations of the agreement.”

The Deputy Head of the United Nations Mission for the Implementation of the Hodeidah Agreement for his part affirmed the commitment of the United Nations mission to continue working on the basis of pushing all parties towards respecting the agreement.

She indicated that utmost efforts were exerted in implementing the Stockholm Agreement and completing the redeployment process in Hodeidah, in order to achieve peace in the country.
