Sudanese security forces announced on Monday that they clashed with gunmen of a cell affiliated with the terrorist organisation Daesh (ISIS) south of the capital Khartoum.
The state-run television said Sudanese security forces clashed with a group of gunmen, which it called “a terrorist cell”, in the south of the capital, days after carrying out a raid against what officials described as a terrorist cell in the same area.
Last Tuesday, the Sudanese General Intelligence said in a statement that five members of its security force were killed and a sixth one wounded in a clash during a raid targeting Daesh in Khartoum.
According to the statement, the forces were able to arrest 11 suspects of different nationalities.
The statement indicated that 4 foreigners from that group managed to escape, with security forces chasing them after the raid.
