Floods have swept through the city of Mukalla in the occupied Hadhramaut province in eastern Yemen, as a result of tropical cyclone Shaheen.
Local sources said the torrential rains caused extensive damage to many houses and swept away more than 20 cars in the city’s neighbourhoods.
One family was rescued after their car was swept away by torrential rains, the sources added.

They pointed out that the floods caused power outages and road closures, with local authorities almost entirely absent in humanitarian efforts.
