Saudi Arabia has on Thursday announced that it had been subjected to a new aerial attack, and accused the Yemeni Armed Forces of carrying out an attack on its territory.
Saudi media said that a drone aircraft targeted Abha International Airport and injured four of its employees.
The Saudi media confirmed that the attack caused material damage to the airport and disrupted air traffic .
Saudi activists on Twitter said they heard powerful explosions in Khamis Mushait, which were believed to be the result of an attack on the King Khalid Air Base there.
The attack came amid intensified Saudi-led coalition airstrikes on Yemen. Coalition warplanes carried out 17 raids on the directorates of al-Jubah, Abdiyah, Sirwah and Medgal in Ma’rib province in eastern Yemen, as well as five raids kn al-Erj area in Bagel district two on al-Salif directorate in Hodeidah governorate, and one on Haradh directorate in Hajjah province in northern Yemen.
