Yemeni diplomat: people and sheikhs of Ma'rib stood with revolutionary forces in latest Ma'rib offensive

Abdul Malik al-Ajri, a member of the Yemeni negotiating delegation, confirmed on Tuesday that dignitaries and sheikhs from the Ma’rib province in eastern Yemen “stood with Sanaa’s forces in order to get rid of the Islah Party’s dominance over the province.”

“The people and  dignitaries of Ma’rib, the sons of the great al-Makaribah, cannot fight for the sake of the legitimacy of a man of whom they do not even know whether he is alive of dead, nor for the sake of a party that is interested only in acquiring the oil areas of Ma’rib and Shabwah and in harnessing them for its own interests and for supplying it to the assets of war generals,” al-Ajri said on Twitter.

He added: “Our hand is in your hands, and we will go from victory to victory, God willing.”

Al-Ajri’s comment came hours after Yemeni army forces took control over the al-Abdiyah district in the south of Ma’rib province, following the killing and injury of several Hadi and Islah forces, in addition to the surrender of hundreds of others after the Saudi coalition let them down.
