Lahj province in southern Yemen has been hit by mass protests against the deteriorating living conditions due to the collapse of currency value and the rise in prices.
According to a local source, protesters blocked main roads by setting fire to tires in al-Anad, where smoke covered the sky of the city, while shops in al-Houta closed their doors,
During a march, the protesters expressed their rejection of the policies of Hadi’s puppet government and the Saudi-led coalition, which have led to the collapse of the currency and the high cost of living.
Lahj province and the rest of the provinces controlled by the coalition are witnessing a rise in prices due to the collapse of Yemeni riyal exchange rate against the US dollar, which has reached its highest levels during the past days.
