Yemen’s Minister of Information in the National Salvation Government, Daifullah al-Shami has on Wednesday praised what he called the honourable position of the Lebanese Minister of Information, George Kurdahi, regarding the war on Yemen.
Al-Shami denounced the media campaign against Kurdahi by those involved in the Saudi-led coalition aggression on Yemen, as a result of his statements on the war on Yemen, which he considered “an absurd war that must stop.”
Minister al-Shami called on the media community and activists to show solidarity with the Lebanese minister, who is currently being exposed to a widespread mainstream media attack, noting that Kurdahi is also “being attacked by supporters of normalisation with the Zionist enemy.”
“This position is not surprising for a large and prestigious media figure such as George Kurdahi, who has a balance of freedom and humanity,” al-Shami said.
Al-Shami pointed out that the Lebanese minister’s speech dod not include an offense to any country, as some are trying to portray it.
He stressed the importance of respecting freedom of opinion and expression, as guaranteed by international and national laws and conventions.
Dhaifullah al-Shami also called on the free medin to take a stand regarding the aggression and siege that Yemen has been subjected to for nearly seven years, amid shameful international silence.
