Powerful explosions rocked the city of Mocha, west of Taiz province, in conjunction with the arrival of the UN Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg to the port city which is under the control of UAE-backed commander Tariq Afash Saleh’s forces.
This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on testimonies of local sources.
While it is not known for sure what caused the explosions, local sources said it was caused by rocket attacks on military camps and positions in the vicinity of the city of Mocha.
The UN Envoy visited the city of Mocha on Wednesday, after having made a surprise visit to Taiz city.
Grundberg’s visit to Taiz as well as the city of Mocha, raised many question marks about the significance of these risky visits.
