British fighter jet crashes in Mediterranean Sea

The British Ministry of Defence announced on Wednesday that an F-35 fighter jet belonging to its air force crashed in the Mediterranean during a routine flight.

“A British F35 pilot from HMS Queen Elizabeth ejected during routine flying operations in the Mediterranean this morning,” the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry added that the pilot has been safely returned to the ship and an investigation has begun, stating that “it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
