A spokesman for the Israeli Defence Ministry announced Wednesday the signing of a defence memorandum of understanding between Morocco and the Zionist entity.
The agreement was signed by Moroccan and Israeli ministers, paving the way for military sales and military cooperation between them, according to Reuters.
The signing of the agreement came on the sidelines of the visit of Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz, who arrived in Rabat on Tuesday during an official visit, the first of its kind.
Gantz met with the Moroccan Minister Delegate in charge of the National Defence Administration, Abdellatif Loudiyi, in order to define the features of security cooperation between Rabat and Tel Aviv.
The Moroccan side did not announce any details about the new agreement with Tel Aviv, but an Israeli official stated that this visit aims to “lay the foundation stone for establishing future security relations between Israel and Morocco.”
