Eyewitnesses in the neighbourhood of Rambagh, located in the Kashmiri city of Srinagar have reported that 3 boys were taken out of a car and shot dead on the street.

Indian police forces said that “three militants were killed in a shootout” in Srinagar, a claim that is contradicted by eyewitness accounts.

In a viral video, eyewitnesses claim that the three were “unarmed and were shot dead by armed forces in front of us”.

Soon after the incident took place, locals gathered near the spot and claimed the killed men were innocent. The crowd shouted slogans and protests were reported starting from the spot.

The Kashmir region has for decades been the scene of unrest and conflict, as a large part of the population rejects the Indian occupation of the region.
