The Yemeni army forces backed by the Popular Committees were able on Wednesday to take control of a strategic mountain overlooking Ma’rib city from the southwest side, after fierce battles with the Saudi-led coalition forces and their armed groups.
Local sources confirmed that the army forces launched a large-scale attack from the sites they had recently liberated in the range of the eastern and middle Al-Balaq Mountains, against coalition forces’ sites southwest of Wadi Abidah.
Despite coalition air raids on these areas, especially in the area of Wadi Abidah and the tops of Al-Balaq Mountains, the Yemeni army forces managed to impose their control on the strategic Shabakah mountain overlooking large parts of the city of Ma’rib.
