A senior commander of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) has on Tuesday survived an assassination attempt in Yemen’s southern province of Lahj.
This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on the testimonies of local sources.
According to the sources, an improvised explosive device exploded and targeted the vehicle belonging the Colonel Saeed Majali al-A’twi, the staff officer of the 8th Brigade reserve, while he was at a local market in the district of Tur al-Bahah, west of Lahj.
The device was planted under the Vehicle’s fuel tank and the blast injured one of Colonel Al-A’twi’s companions and another civilian was near the vehicle , one of the sources said.
