Former Lebanese minister George Kordahi "does not regret" condemning Saudi invasion of Yemen despite losing his position

The former Lebanese Minister of Information, George Kordahi, confirmed that he “does not regret anything”, after his resignation under Saudi pressure following his statements about the Saudi war on Yemen.

In an interview with the Euronews network, George Kordahi considered that some “imagined that they could harass me in political life,” noting that what he said about the war in Yemen “does not deserve this fuss”, and that he made his statements in good faith.

He indicated that “the commotion was prepared before in backrooms,” and that he was personally surprised by the strength of the reaction to it, noting that “what I said was used as a pretext for other reasons.”

Kordahi did not rule out his candidacy for future Lebanese parliamentary elections, hinting that what happened has only pushed him further to pursue politics. The former minister concluded by saying that his political career “never ended, but only just started now.”
