The UAE-backed Al-Amaliqa Brigades (also known as Giants Brigades) have on Tuesday stormed the Special Forces camp in Ataq city, the capital of Shabwah province, eastern Yemen.
Local sources reported that Islah Party militants led by Abdrabo Lakab exchanged fire with Al-Amaliqa forces inside the camp.
The clashes came after Al-Amaliqa forces took control of Ataq Airport, amidst continuous flights of Emirati warplanes over the city.
The sources pointed out that the military situation is still tense at the moment of reporting.
