Zionist entity launches new attacks on Syrian port of Latakia

The Israeli occupation entity has launched a new wave of missiles targeting the container yard at Latakia commercial port, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported, citing a military source.

In a statement, the military source said that “At about 03:21 AM on Tuesday, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial aggression with a wave of missiles from the Mediterranean Sea, west of Lattakia, targeting the container yard at the commercial port in Latakia.”

The source added that the Israeli aggression caused the eruption of fires, as well as significant material damages, adding that “work is underway to put out the fires and assess the results of the aggression.”

Meanwhile, Major Mohamad Jaafar, Commander of Latakia Fire Brigade, told SANA that the firefighting teams are continuing to work on extinguishing the fires in the container yard, noting that “the materials targeted in the containers are oils and spare parts for vehicles and cars.”

The Israeli aggression also caused damages to al-Nada Hospital and some buildings and shops adjacent to the port.

On December 7, the Zionists had already launched an aggression campaign targeting the container yard at Latakia commercial port.
