Yemeni air defences have on Wednesday morning shot down a reconnaissance fighter plane belonging to Saudi-led coalition forces over the airspace of Shabwah province, southern Yemen.
In a brief statement, Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesman Brigadier General Yehya Sare’e said that the Air Defence managed to down a Chinese-made Wing Loong 2 unmanned aerial vehicle operated by the UAE occupation forces, while it was carrying out hostile acts over the airspace of Usaylan district.

The drone was targeted with a locally made surface-to-air missile, according to the statement.
