Palestinian prisoner and hunger striker Hisham Abu Hawash set to be released

Palestinian prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash, has ended his hunger strike, which lasted for 141 days, after Israeli occupation authorities yielded to his demands to release him from captivity.

A statement issued by the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said that a deal has been reached which forced the occupation authorities to release Abu Hawash on February 26, according to Wafa News Agency. Abu Hawash had been held by Zionist forces without official charges, which is an often-used Zionist tactic.

Abu Hawash, aged 40, from the town of Dura west of al-Khalil, was detained on 27 October 2020 and has been held ever since, despite no court trial having taken place.
