New round of Iranian-Saudi talks to be held in Baghdad

The Iranian ambassador to Iraq, Iraj Masjedi, has on Thursday announced that the fifth round of talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia would be held soon in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

In statements to the Iraqi Al-Ahed channel, which were quoted by the official Iranian news agency IRNA, Masjedi said, “So far, four rounds of talks have taken place under Iraqi sponsorship in Baghdad.”

The Iranian ambassador explained that the reason behind delaying the fifth round was that the new Iranian government has been inauguration, and that the work will begin to resume the negotiations.

He expressed his hope that the two parties would reach positive results.
