The UAE-backed Southern Transnational Council (STC) militia have been providing protection to Israeli tourists, although the latter do not hesitate to provoke the population by showing their affiliation with the state of the Zionist entity according to recent reports.
Reporting sources added that “the confidence of Israeli tourists in the protection of the United Arab Emirates has grown significantly recently, and some of them are carrying the Zionist flag while documenting their tours in Socotra in front of the population, in a new development that confirms the deliberate provocation of the feelings of Yemenis.”
Activists on social media circulated an image of a Zionist tourist walking around Socotra carrying a Zionist flag.
The UAE took full military control of the Socotra archipelago in June 2020, although this occupation has not been officially recognised by anyone and is illegal under internagional law.
The UAE occupation reportedly still continues to expand and consolidate its control over the Socotra archipelago, including continuing to grant permission to foreign tourists to visit the archipelago without considering any Yemeni authorities.
According to local sources, Abu Dhabi is paying special attention to Israeli tourists by providing them with security protection while touring the archipelago.
Inhabitants of the Zionist entity known as Israel are officially not allowed to enter the territory of the Republic of Yemen, as Yemen does not recognise the legitimacy of their occupation of Palestine.
