Russian peacekeepers depart from Kazakhstan

Russian troops from the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) peacekeeping forces have left Kazakhstan, the Russian Defence Ministry said on Saturday.

The ministry said in a statement that the forces carried their equipment aboard military transport aircraft of the types Il-76 and En-24 and set off from Alma-Ata airport.”

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defence announced the departure of the first batch of its forces.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced On Wednesday January 12th that Russian peacekeeping forces, would begin withdrawing from Kazakhstan starting on Thursday.
