Iran’s Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Committee had revealed on Saturday that Tehran and Riyadh are preparing a revival of bilateral relations and a reopening of their embassies .
Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi, a member of Iran’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said on his Twitter account that relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia “are being revived and that the embassies are preparing to be reopened.”
Jahanabadi said that relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia “will have an important impact on easing regional tensions and boosting the unity of the Islamic world.”
He warned the country’s security bodies and media about “the Zionists’ vicious activities” and “stupid acts by radicals” meant to disrupt ties.
Saudi Arabia and Iran have not had any official diplomatic ties with one another since 2016.
