Several casualties in conflict between UAE-backed mercenaries and Lahj tribes

A number of militants were killed and wounded in violent clashes on Sunday in Lahj province, southern Yemen, according to local sources.

The sources said that clashes between Al-Sabiha tribes and the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia came due to the cutting off the main road in Sabr area linking Taiz and Aden, in protest against the killing of one of the tribe members.

The sources indicated that the STC militia leader in Lahj, Saleh al-Sayed, directed his troops to arrest Al-Sabiha members, while refusing to hand over the suspected killers to the judicial authorities.
