The new head of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA), Major General Michael Beary, has officially taken up his duties in Hodeidah province.

On December 24, 2021, the General Secretary of the UN announced the appointment of retired Irish Major General Michael Beary as head of the UNMHA in the province.
