Parliament speaker Yahya al-Rai’ has on Thursday sent a sent a message of congratulations to Roberta Mezzola on the occasion of her election as President of the European Parliament.
In the message, al-Rai’ affirmed the keenness of Yemen’s Parliament to consolidate relations, enhance cooperation, and coordinate common positions and visions with the European Parliament in parliamentary forums on issues of common interest, especially with regard to supporting the cause of the Yemeni people and lifting the brutal aggression and unjust siege on Yemen.
He expressed the aspirations of the Yemeni people, calling upon the European Parliament to take a firm stance against the Saudi-led aggression and siege, and call for the permanent opening of Yemeni seaports and airports.
