The Yemeni Minister of Public Health, Dr. Taha al-Mutawakel, has announced on Tuesday that the death toll of the prison massacre committed by Saudi-led coalition warplanes in Saada city has reached 91 dead and 236 wounded who are being hospitalised for treatment.
Dr. al-Mutawakel stated, in a press conference in Saada, that since the beginning of January and the recent wave of escalation, the Ministry of Health has recorded the killing of 150 citizens and the wounding of 350 others.
For his part, Abdulmohsen Tawoos, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs, said that the targeted prison was visited by various organisations, and reiterated that targeting prisons is forbidden by international law.
The Governor of Saada province, Mohammed Jaber Awad, called for the formation of an international investigation committee and for a judicial trial of the killers and those who ordered this crime.
