The US Department of State has on Thursday called on Americans to avoid travel to the United Arab Emirates due to concerns about threats of further Yemeni retaliatory attacks, as well as the spread of the coronavirus.
“The ministry continues to advise travelers not to travel to the UAE, due to the risk of Yemeni missile attacks or drone attacks,” the State Department said in the travel advisory.
It stressed that the possibility of attacks affecting American citizens and interests in the Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula remains is “a source of constant concern and danger.”
These warnings come after the UAE was subjected to several missile attacks by Yemeni forces, following a recent policy of escalation by Emirati forces against Yemen.
