Yemeni Media Union condemns Qatari repression against Yemeni activist Saleh al-Jarmozi

The Yemeni Media Union (YMU) on Monday expressed its deep concern about the arrest of political and human rights activist Saleh al-Jarmozi by the Qatari authorities, calling for the disclosure of his fate and his immediate release.

The union indicated in a statement that “the activist al-Jarmozi has been kept from his family since January 22, after he was arrested by the security services in Qatar.”

The statement pointed out that the Qatari authorities illegally arrested al-Jarmozi after he had made an appearance with Al-Mayadeen TV in which he expressed his solidarity with the Yemeni people and struggle against the invaders.

YMU pointed out that al-Jarmozi was subjected to repressive measures and threats related to his nationality, residence, and work, considering all this a flagrant violation of the freedom of expression.
