US embassy in UAE issues, then deletes, alarm regarding upcoming missile and drone strikes

The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi has deleted a statement it had published Wednesday on its official website, in which it warned American citizens in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) of possible missile or drone attacks on the UAE.

In its deleted statement, the US embassy clarified saying: “There are reports of a possible missile or drone attack on Abu Dhabi, in the UAE, today, February 9, 2022.”

“The embassy advises US citizens to immediately follow the safety procedures listed below and to remain alert in the event of additional future attacks,” the statement read. The embassy also published a list of “measures to be taken” in the event of an incident.
