A female student studying Journalism and media at the Faculty of Arts in University of Aden, Asma Bassem Abdullah, has disappeared in the past few hours under mysterious circumstances.
“She left the house on Thursday morning for the media college in Khor Maksar and did not return home,” said the student’s family.
The family appealed to people of Aden to help find the young woman.
In June 2021, the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) had already abducted student Nabil Saleh Hubibat from the Faculty of Arts, the Media Department of Aden University, and took him to an unknown destination.
The phenomenon of enforced disappearance and abduction of women and girls in Aden has increased over the past five years, amid reports of organised networks funded by the UAE being behind these crimes.
